 The Climbing Experience

The trek lasts 5–10 days, depending on your route and fitness level. Climbers aim to reach Margherita Peak (5,109m), the highest point of the Rwenzori and the third-highest in Africa.

 Pass through several vegetation zones:
  • Tropical rainforest

  • Bamboo forest

  • Heather and moorland

  • Alpine zone with giant lobelias

  • Snow and glacier near the summit

 Popular Routes
  • Central Circuit Trail (7–8 days) – Most popular route with Margherita Peak access.

  • Kilembe Trail (5–7 days) – Quieter route with fewer climbers.

Accommodation is in simple mountain huts along the trail.
