Day 1: Travel from Masindi and Arrival at Ajai
Your safari begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Masindi town by your professional guide from Eshande Safaris. The drive northwest toward Ajai Game Reserve offers scenic views of rural villages, farmland, and savannah landscapes, providing an immediate taste of northern Uganda’s natural beauty. Upon arrival, you will check in at Ajai Lodge or one of the nearby safari camps, where you can refresh and settle in before beginning your adventure. A short nature walk around the lodge allows you to familiarize yourself with the reserve, spot small wildlife, and enjoy birding opportunities. In the afternoon, you will embark on your first game drive, observing elephants, kobs, buffaloes, and warthogs in their natural habitat. The day concludes with a scenic sunset view over the savannah, offering excellent photography opportunities, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 2: Full Day Safari and Cultural Visit

After a morning of wildlife and birding, you will return to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, you will visit the nearby villages to meet the Aringa and Lugbara communities, learning about their traditions, experiencing local crafts, and enjoying cultural dances. Later, you will return to the reserve for another game drive or photography safari, observing wildlife in the soft evening light. Optional sunset drinks at a scenic viewpoint can round off the day before dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 3: Morning Safari and Return to Masindi
