Day 1: Kampala → Gulu → Kidepo
  • Departure: Early morning from Kampala (~5:00–6:00 AM).

  • Route: Kampala → Lira → Gulu → Kitgum → Kidepo (~850 km, 14–16 hours including stops).

  • Stops:

    • Lira: Breakfast or short rest.

    • Gulu: Lunch or refreshments.

    • Kitgum: Quick stretch before the final leg.

  • Arrival: Late evening at Kidepo.

  • Check-in: Lodges such as Apoka Safari Lodge, Kidepo Savannah Lodge, or Kidepo Safari Camp.

  • Evening: Dinner and rest.


Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive
  • Morning:

    • Early breakfast, then depart for a morning game drive in Narus and Lomej Valleys.

    • Spot lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and buffalo.

  • Midday: Picnic lunch in the park.

  • Afternoon:

    • Continue exploring Apoka Plains and other scenic areas.

    • Birdwatching opportunities—over 475 species of birds in Kidepo.

  • Evening: Return to lodge for dinner. Optional night game drive.


Day 3: Community Visit & Scenic Exploration
  • Morning:

    • Visit Ik or Karamojong communities to learn about traditional crafts, dances, and storytelling.

  • Afternoon:

    • Take a short nature walk or late afternoon game drive for wildlife and photography.

    • Enjoy scenic viewpoints on the escarpments.

  • Evening: Dinner at lodge and sunset relaxation.


Day 4: Kidepo → Kampala
  • Early Morning: Optional early morning game drive for wildlife activity at dawn.

  • Late Morning: Check out from lodge. Begin the return drive to Kampala.

  • Stops: Kitgum, Gulu, and Lira for meals and rest.

  • Arrival: Late evening in Kampala.
