Lake Mburo is named after a local legend of two brothers, Kigarama and Mburo. When floods filled the valley, it formed the lake that drowned Mburo. The area was gazetted in 1933 and became a national park in 1983, now famous for zebras, impalas, and rich birdlife.
Day 1: Kampala – Equator – Igongo – Lake Mburo National Park

Drive through Masaka–Mbarara scenic countryside
Visit Igongo Cultural Centre for cultural museum experience and lunch
Proceed to Lake Mburo National Park in the afternoon
